IN MEMORIAM: Terri Armstrong

The Art Rapids Board of Directors would like to posthumously recognize Terri Armstrong, a board member who passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2021. Terri was a native of Elk Rapids and truly appreciated the Walk of Art Park as she came to be involved with Art Rapids. According to her family, her passion for cardinals was identified as her ultimate favorite to observe or collect. A memorial concert was held in the Walk of Art Park in August of 2021 to kick off fundraising efforts for a dedicated sculpture to be placed in Terri's honor. By fall of 2022, metal Artist Ann Gildner was commissioned to design a pair of cardinals. Installed in June 2023, "Cardinals for Terri" were placed on a tree, looking like they should be there. 

When visiting the park, you will find them on the south side of the pavilion. A sincere thank you to all donors who contributed to this lovely dedication.
